Additional Academic Services

Handwriting Without Tears – This program has a track record of success in making legible, fluent handwriting an easy and automatic skill for students. Our curriculum uses hands-on, educationally sound instructional methods to teach handwriting.

Classroom Study Skills – Many students struggle because they have never been taught how to study effectively in order to achieve success in school. Our study skills lessons provide students with the skills needed to learn how to learn more effectively. Students are assessed in active listening, reading comprehension, note-taking, stress management, time management, test-taking, and memorization to determine areas of need for study skills.

Specialized Homework Help – Working one on one with students on homework can be a great opportunity to help them integrate the skills they are learning in tutoring with what is happening at school. A tutor can reinforce skills learned or help teach additional academic skills to students who are struggling in the classroom environment. We have found that motivation increases when students can apply new skills they learn in tutoring sessions to their struggles at school.
